The statutory minimum hourly rate for security workers will increase from €15.41 to €16.15 from 28 September 2026.

On 7 September 2026, the Minister of State for Employment, Small Business and Retail, Alan Dillon TD, confirmed his intention to sign a new Employment Regulation Order for Ireland’s Security Industry.

The amended Order is due to take effect from Monday, 28 September 2026 and will increase the statutory minimum hourly rate for security workers from €15.41 to €16.15 per hour.

This represents an increase of €0.74 per hour, or approximately 4.8%, in the statutory minimum rate of pay.
