Synergy Spotlight - Jackie Mountaine

How long have you been working with Synergy, and what attracted you to the company?

I'm in the industry for 33 years and 23 years with Synergy which was a merger with Rapier Security and Express Security and  transitioned into Synergy Security in 2010 

 

How has your experience with the company been since you started? 

Through many years of hard work I have developed the interpersonal skills to build a strong and dedicated team.  No day is ever the same but the thrill and success of the business, both from client feedback and external awards, becomes a motivator and makes me want to get up out of bed in the morning.  The highs, well outway the lows and the acknowledgement from the company of my hard work and that of my teams continues to drive me to deliver service excellence to our clients

 

How has your role progressed since joining Synergy? 

Commencing with Synergy in a Senior leadership role developed and honed my business acumen to allow me to move into various different positions within the company over the last 23 years.  My existing primary focus is rostering, coordinating and supporting the operations nationwide for the 1500 staff.  The logistical role I now fulfill is personally very rewarding, albeit-pressurized but very rewarding 


 

How would you describe your team?

Obviously the evolution of a team is ever changing especially in the current climate of full employment, however team building has over the years become one of my fortes. Thankfully I have developed a strong, dedicated and loyal team who consistently demonstrate the service centric focus of Synergy!

 

What do you feel is the most interesting element of your role? 

Without a doubt the people, the clients, the different and diverse business we support from a security point of view. You think you’ve heard it all and then …….there is a new story, a new problem to be solved! 

 

Do you feel your work and efforts have been recognised? If so, How? 

I am lucky enough to have years of experience with Synergy with a strong and progressive Senior Management who value and empower us as a team and recognise our efforts. The recently implemented Quarrot system is a motivator for all levels in the organization.

 

What advice would you provide to someone interested in joining the security Industry?  

The industry has changed and developed over the years to facilitate the every changing client needs, focus and direction of business. The best attributes for someone new is to be people focused and flexible in their approach to their work. Recognition for those who are prepared to work hard is there!
