How long have you been working with Synergy, and what attracted you to the company?

I have been working with synergy since 2003. I come from a Hospitality background

and decided that a career change was due, and security seemed the perfect  fit.

How has your experience with the company been since you started?

The team has always been very helpful and from the beginning guided me in what the criteria and procedures were for the sites that I was on. I have had the pleasure of working with dedicated personnel and management throughout my career that have guided me to where I am today. Due to this I am alot more confident and able to pass on my experience to others.

How has your role progressed since joining Synergy?

Since joining synergy, which was then known as Express Security, I started as a static officer on building sites. Since then I have gained experience in all types of roles from their Car-Park Attendant roles to Mobile Patrol Driver, and finally onto Corporate Security. I have even had the experience of starting new contracts. The amount of help I received from staff and management that has helped me along the way. I found everyone that I came in contact with helpful and very approachable, any any issues of feedback I have ever had has been rectified and taken onboard by management.

How would you describe your team?

My team at the moment is great, They are very respectful of people that they come in contact with and carry out their roles efficiently, and with confidence.

What do you feel is the most interesting element of your role?

The most interesting part of my job is meeting different people, all of different ways of thinking. This learning experience is very useful as it helps take a new perspective on different problems, leading to new effective solutions.

Do you feel your work and efforts have been recognised? If so, How?

Yes.I feel that the effort that I have put in to the company from the start has been recognised. This has also led to a great relationship with the company as the experience I have gained means I can comfortably work on any site, in any type of setting. 

What advice would you provide to someone interested in joining the security industry?

For anyone considering joining the security Industry, I would say that they should consider it from a progression perspective. The Industry has changed since I first joined, and now an entry level security position can be used as a stepping stone to gain experience and progress within the company and develop a security career.
