Synergy Spotlight - Daniel Keane

When did you Join Synergy, and what attracted you to the company?

I joined Synergy Security Solutions in August 2022. I was attracted to Synergy by the variety in the role, the opportunity to travel nationally & internationally, the opportunity to bring my many years of experience to bear in a different environment.

How have your previous skills helped you in your current role?

My management experience is an asset & my vast experience of dealing with and communicating with people is of huge benefit as this is a people led business. As a previous member of An Garda Siochana, I was able to bring a wealth of security type knowledge to my new role.

How has your experience with the company been since you started?

My experience in my first six months with Synergy Security Solutions has been extremely positive. They have very effective systems & processes in place. They have a great mentoring programme which allows you to consistently refer to your mentor for advice & validation.

How would you describe your team?

The team I work with - Business Development is a hard working, dynamic team. They are always available to give advice & a guiding hand. Business Development works closely across all sections within Synergy Security.

What do you feel is the most interesting element of your role?

I find the most interesting element in my new role to be reaching out to potential customers & existing customers and telling them our story and the services we as a leading Irish Security Company can offer. This is a totally different type of role from my previous life in An Garda Siochana.

What do you find most challenging about your role?

Getting my head around that this is a consumer industry where contracts to customers & level of service is the bottom line.

Do you feel your work and efforts have been recognised? If so, How?

I have felt very welcomed since joining Synergy Security Solutions. I am constantly seeking & getting feedback from my colleagues. They have an extremely good inhouse employee recognition award scheme.

What advice would you provide to someone interested in joining the security Industry?

I would advise them to come in with an open mind, to learn everything there is to learn in the security space. To listen carefully to instruction, to ask for advice when required & then grow & flourish within the company as the opportunities are varied & endless.
